Crowdsourcing at your fingertips
Surveys
Survey projects generally ask contributors to provide general views, examinations, or descriptions of someone or something.
How Surveys generally work on CrowdFlower:
- Create a job with No Data
- Build your instructions and questions on the Edit page
- Set your Advanced Options (location restrictions, etc) on the Edit page.
- Set the price and run the job
- Make sure the job is yielding adequate results
- Download your final results
Best practices:
- Many users will use an external survey site to host the survey, e.g., SurveyMonkey, and display a link to the survey within the CrowdFlower contributor form. Note that we require at least one question to be asked within the contributor form. Many users take this opportunity to ask for a confirmation code.
- In most cases Survey jobs cannot use Gold Standard Data to ensure quality due to their subjective nature.
- Make sure your job is yielding adequate results before running a large job. Tests are highly recommended.
- Be sure to skim through the options available to you in the Advanced Options on the Edit page before running.
- When considering which geographic locations to run your jobs, think about cultural barriers that could cause conflicts.
